Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at ApexridingAcademy@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Our program allows you to start classes any day during the month. Once enrolled, we hold your child’s spot on that day and look forward to seeing them every week.  Find and enroll in any opening in your student’s level at a day and time that works for you. You will then own that spot until your child is moved to a different level. You may move days and times if needed by using your Customer Portal or contacting us.

We understand that life is busy and 30 minutes once-a-week fits well in family schedules.  Our teaching techniques are recognized to a national level and we see amazing results with our students when they attend their 30-minute lesson, one time a week. Consistent attendance and repetition in the lessons are critical for success. Each child progresses at their own pace and results usually start to appear after the eighth lesson. May a child come more than once a week? Of course!

When you’d like to take a break  from lessons, simply submit a Cancellation Notice at least 15 days prior to your last lesson.  Why 15 days?  That way we can bill your last month correctly and cease future payments.

We require everyone to sign up for an Intro lesson and tour. You can do this by clicking the link Here

If you have had lessons with us before, you already have an account and there is no need to create a new one. You contact us through Email or Call us at 801.244.7996

Once enrolled, you own this day and time.  We are committed to seeing you each week in this class until you give us a 15 day cancellation notice to end your class.  For absences and makeup eligibility see FAQ.

The first month’s tuition pays for the number of lessons left in that month.

The future month’s tuition is billed on the 1st business day of each month and will vary depending on the number of classes scheduled in the month.  Billing will continue until you submit your 15-day cancellation notice.

Monthly tuition is not always the same. Some months have 5 lessons/weeks. The total monthly tuition is higher for those months.  Some months have 4 lessons and possibly less due to holidays and closures. The total monthly tuition is lower for those months.

After EIGHT LESSONS at Apex, we require our riders to own their own boots, riding pants, and gloves. We believe that after 8 lessons, you are able to tell if your rider is interested enough to continue. Helmet, Boots, pants, and gloves do a large part in allowing our instructors to see the proper position of our riders. We prefer bootcut jods for our riders. If you are purchasing jods, your rider will also need underpasses. (these hold the jods down) We recommend zip up black riding boots rather than laced.  There are many helmets on the market, but please purchase one that is ASTM Approved/SEI Certified. Helmets should be fitted in store if you go to Greenway Saddlery in Scottsdale, or by an instructor. We recommend black in case your rider ever wants to show in a fun show or academy show.

** Locally, all of these items can be purchased at Greenway Saddlery in Scottsdale or ask your instructor for the reputable links to vendors we approve of online.

After THREE MONTHS of lessons at Apex, we require our riders to purchase their own stirrups and leathers. The reason we ask for these purchases is that it provides the same length of stirrup with each ride which allows your rider to strengthen their legs better. The cost of stirrups are $200. Please talk to your instructor when you are ready to purchase.

  • For the health and safety of all riders and staff, if your rider has any symptoms of illness, we ask that you report the absence and do not attend your riding lesson until symptoms have gone away.
  • We understand that last-minute issues can occur. However, to avoid being charged for your lesson, you MUST cancel 2 hours before your scheduled lesson.
  • How to Report an Absence?
    • The Customer Portal allows it to happen with just a few clicks.
      1. Log into your Customer Portal (through the Vargo app or link on our website)
      2. GO to your Appointments
      3. Select Cancel
      4. Report this to your instructor and you will be given 30 days to do a make-up lesson or lose it.

Your rider stays enrolled until you submit a 15-day cancellation notice in order for our system to apply for the correct payment and cease future payments.
Submit your last day via EMAIL. We ask for a 15-day notice to ensure correct billing. Canceling your lessons is permanent and will release your rider's spot.

Please be aware you sill lose this spot in our scheduling.
